"I was raised Jewish in a close knit Jewish community. I attended Sunday school through high school and went through confirmation at 16. During my years in Hebrew School, one of my teachers was going for her masters in theology. She often discussed what she was learning and took us to different churches in our community. I believe, that started my spiritual journey. I read many books. One, that stands out in my mind, is 'The Cross and the Switch Blade'. I continued reading reading and watching movies and plays like 'Godspell' and 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. They had a profound effect on me. Throughout college and my twenties, I was searching for God; going to different churches and synagogues not sure of what I was actually looking for. It was not until my son Michael attended a Christian preschool that I really began to understand who God was both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. I saw the line of continuum. I had many mentors during this time, giving me things to read, and sharing Old Testament prophesies. It was a hard journey bringing together my Jewish upbringing and my new Christian beliefs. Today my husband and I try to teach our children the richness of their heritage both Jewish and Christian, traditions and customs as well as religious beliefs. Throughout my journey I have been a painter. That was my major in high school as well as in college, where I earned my BFA. My art work greatly reflects my spiritual journey. I feel my life goal is to witness to others through my paintings and to help keep the arts alive in the Christian community. In pursuing that goal, I have exhibited in many galleries and participated in and organized art festivals, and painted back drops for church dramas. In order to foster the arts in the Christian community, I feel it is vitally important to teach people a love for God, a love of learning about their heritage and a means in which to express those feelings to the rest of the world."
