TINA'S TREES planted 10/07/04 Scott helping to move Tina's trees in the pattern designed. Scott had cleared the land of scrub and such previously just for this memorial garden. The area behind with brush is where the pond is going to be located, there is water in it starting to collect, just needs final cleaning.
~~~~ These are the three Garden Center workmen planting Carol's 50th birthday gift from the EleFan Herd, a beautiful Magnolia tree. Her Magnolia tree is leading the two memorial walking groups of river birch trees, one group representing Barbara, and one group representing Tina. They will be walking around a pond when it is finished. This area will be a beautiful memorial garden inside TES.
~~~~ It was alot of hard work, and toke them around 3 hours to complete. The ground was hard from a rare month of no rain. After the were planted and watered in by the sanctuary staff that eve, there was a very good rain following in the next couple days. They have made a good start!
~~~~ Their chosen method of digging the holes were with sharp shovels
~~~~ They each had a nice donut of mulch around them to maintain moisture, these guys really did a good job!
~~~~
And here is the finished pattern, the trunk up ahead with 4 trees staked as if walking, there was different patterns we considered of the legs, and chose this. The trees will get more adjustments as they grow. YeeHaw! They turned out great!
~~~~ Here is the view of Barbara with Carol's tree, Tina follows behind Barbara
~~~~ A Wider view
~~~~ A 'Head of the Line' view looking in, Carol in front, Barbara following, and Tina follow them both
~~~~ Close-up of Carol's Magnolia tree's leaves, a beautiful coppery color underneath, they were very healthy trees, I thought they even had flower buds on them!
~~~~
And there is Scott riding off in the sunset with companions at his side, actually, he usually has 2-3 dogs with him, they love him so! Some ride some run, which ever, Scott always watches them and makes sure that none get left behind or that he goes too fast. Not only is Scottie the beloved hero of the eles, but of all the sanctuary animals! What a great guy!
