Marcella
Smith
, fashioned after the real Tina!
This is the same sculpture Marcella was carving on Channel
9 News KMBC Kansas City on Sept 3 with news reporter Bev Chapman. Marcella
was also featured on a radio show with talk show host Joel Nichols telling the
story of Tina's situation, her adventurous cross country trip with Tina as the
crew chauffeur, and the creation of the special TINA sculpture. Marcella was part of the volunteer 5 person team (including a Canadian news crew) that brought Tina from Vancouver to Tennessee in August 2003. When she got home, Marcella began the creation of the TINA sculpture, so that proceeds, after production costs, of the TINA sculpture's sales, could then help support Tina's new life at the Sanctuary!
