 'COVERED' Collection #1 - 7 inches tall , white stoneware with dark black / brown terra-sig slip painted over bottom exposed clay surface - gold glaze covering dripping over piece representing the covering of Jesus Christ blood over our sins so that God can forgive us them, the semi-precious jewels of Turquoise Stone from Arizona Turquoise mines and beautiful colors drip out of the top as the result!  The Covered Collection is Marcella's newest and most exciting Christian Theme pottery.  This first representative piece has been taken to The Fine Art Center in Hot Springs Arkansas for display and sell along with one smaller.  If you are interested in this piece and one smaller contact The Fine Art Center.  This Collection will grow in size and price soon, as did all her previous collections.  The gold glaze has been covered with a protective expensive lacquer, used on outdoor bronze statues / sculptures, that adheres to the copper molecules in the glaze.  Marcella's unique signature, as always, is on the bottom of the pot adding to it's future value.

"Since the beginning of my artist’s career, I have been fascinated by drips. They bring to my pieces a since of ‘movement’ and ‘flow’, helping to take away the otherwise cold feeling that comes from the hardness and solid permanence of this medium. Almost all of my collections have a gold or yellow center, except for my ZEBRA WARE (marbled clay pottery that I use to demonstrate how when different color clays, or people, work together they can make a beautiful piece of art!). This energetic yellow center represents to me the color of our souls as we flow and move thru our lives and after.

Being a strong Christian, most of my pieces have some sort of spiritual meaning, not always visible to the average viewer, but are there none the less. My latest addition of semi-precious stones, besides bringing the beautiful colors and variety of media, also represents ‘wisdom’ or ‘adventure’ to me, for their age is much much older then you or I, or the pottery it is attached to.

I will continue to work on and develop more variations to all of my collections, and of course will always me searching in my mind for a new creation or collection of works for the future."
