Elden C. Tefft, at age 83, is an active and currently working sculptor in Lawrence, KS.  He was the Founder of the International Sculpture Center and its Conferences many years ago.

Beginning in the late 40's, he developed the founding basis of early conferences through experimental research and international travel.  He has continued this emphasis on bronze founding research as Director of the Kansas Sculpture Research Center, dispersing the resulting technology through publications, workshops, and teaching around the world.

His own work maintains an emphasis on bronze although he also works in stone and other media.  He is the recipient of the Governor's Art's, first Lifetime Achievement Award in Art Education and received an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts.
